Artwork requirements

We only accept print-ready artwork!

Print-ready artwork is a file fully prepared for printing that requires no changes to its content and no prepress preparation.

If you have difficulties preparing the file, you can order artwork design or revision.

Artwork design and revision are quoted separately.
The cost of revision/design is not included in the order price and is charged from your balance additionally.

The internal content of the artwork is not checked.

If artwork revision/design is required, the completion date will change according to the selected print lead time after the artwork is approved.

Accepted file formats: TIFF, PDF, PSD, CDR, AI
Not accepted: JPG, EPS, PNG, GIF, BMP, PICT, DOC, XLS, etc.

Files you upload through the form during checkout undergo a manual check.

Artwork size

The artwork must be made with a 2 mm bleed on each side. Important information must be placed no closer than 5 mm to the edge of the artwork, taking the bleed into account. All full-bleed elements (photos or background image) must cover the entire area of the artwork. Files must not contain cut marks, registration crosses, scales or any other elements.

For example:
Untrimmed business card size — 54×94 mm, trimmed size — 50×90 mm;
Untrimmed flyer size — 103×214 mm, trimmed size — 99×210 mm.
The minimum sticker size for manual cutting is 40×40 mm.

General file requirements

  • All layers flattened

Resolution

The optimal resolution for offset printing is 300 dpi.

Color

  • CMYK or grayscale, 8 bit/channel
  • Minimum ink coverage — 20%
  • Maximum ink coverage — 300%
  • Do not embed the color profile
  • Rich black (large fills and text larger than 36 pt) — C-50 M-50 Y-50 K-100
  • Small text — C-0 M-0 Y-0 K-100
  • For small light text, the maximum ink coverage of a black background is 200% (C-30 M-30 Y-30 K-100)
  • QR codes and barcodes — vector, single ink C-0 M-0 Y-0 K-100

Hybrid spot UV varnish

  • The artwork is provided in PDF format
  • Minimum UV varnish line thickness — 0.5 mm

Font size

  • On a light background — at least 5 pt
  • On a dark background — at least 6 pt
  • Minimum line thickness — 0.2 mm; for light elements on a dark background — 0.3 mm

Common mistakes

  • Raster images not flattened into a single layer
  • Fonts in the artwork not converted to outlines
  • Images in RGB color mode
  • Incorrect resolution of raster images (too low or too high)
  • Missing bleeds for trimming, or incorrect bleeds, trims, off-center positioning
  • Use of effects and transparency in Adobe Illustrator and CorelDRAW
  • Small type supplied as raster images (poorly legible)
  • Important elements (logos, text, etc.) closer than 5 mm to the edge of the trim size

  • The artwork is submitted with a 2 mm bleed on each side
  • Important information — no closer than 5 mm to the edge of the artwork, taking the bleed into account

Spiral binding

  • Pitch 3:1 (brochure thickness up to 10 mm) — at least 12 mm from the untrimmed edge to important objects
  • A preview is required for orders with perforation
  • On the preview, indicate the distance in mm from the edge of the finished product to the start of post-press work
Important On the binding side, perforation may be located at a minimum of 25 mm from the edge of the finished product; on the other sides — 10 mm from the edge of the finished product.
Please note: if a horizontal brochure opens from bottom to top and is read when unfolded (the second and third pages are read top to bottom), the spiral is at the top on odd pages and at the bottom on even pages. In that case, even pages in the artwork must be rotated 180°. On the backing sheet (last sheet) the spiral is always at the top, so the back of the backing is not rotated.

Printed image

  • All layers flattened or grouped
  • No alpha channels
  • Color model — CMYK

Cut line

  • Indicated with a black vector curve (0.1 mm outline) or several curves combined into one group, over the printed image
  • Image bleed beyond the cut line — 2 mm
  • Distance between elements laid out on one sheet — 2 mm

Artwork sizes

  • Minimum size for plotter cutting — 10×10 mm
  • Maximum artwork length — 2000 mm
  • Items are laid out to the maximum print width on the material minus 20 mm
  • Minimum size of objects for weeding — 10×10 mm
For example: glossy Ritrama film — 1560 − 20 = 1540 mm.

Artwork is accepted in two options:

  • Two files (upload as an archive): the first — cutting in CDR or PDF; the second — printing in TIF or PSD
  • A single file in CDR format

For orders with shipping

  • The artwork must have two cut lines: for plotter cutting and for trimming to size (matches the size in the order)
  • The plotter cut line — no closer than 5 mm from the edge of the artwork in the untrimmed size
  • The artwork is submitted with a 2 mm bleed on all sides
For example: finished product 100×100 mm, untrimmed artwork size — 104×104 mm, trim-to-size line — 100×100 mm, plotter line — 94×94 mm.

Trimming to size + plotter cutting

  • We set the size 100×100 mm
  • We upload the file for printing at 104×104 mm (accounting for 2 mm bleed margins on each side)
  • The distance from the trim-to-size line to the plotter cut line — at least 3 mm
PDF PSD CDR AI
Elements marked with the “White” spot color (C-100 M-0 Y-0 K-0) will be printed in white. Everything not marked is the color of the material.
  • Minimum thickness of CMYK lines over white — 3 mm
  • The CMYK image must be larger than the objects under white by 0.35 mm (1 pt) on each side
  • Minimum text size — 9 pt Bold (white text smaller than 9 pt is poorly legible)
  • Allowed misregistration — 0.6 mm (1.75 pt)
  • White ink printing in halftones is possible
Adobe Illustrator, Corel
  • Elements for white printing — on a separate layer over the printed image
  • Create a spot color C-100 M-0 Y-0 K-0 named “White” with the mandatory OVERPRINT attribute (fill overprint)
Adobe Photoshop
  • Select the required object
  • In the “Channels” window, add a new spot channel named “White” (spot color C-100 M-0 Y-0 K-0)

PDF CDR
  • Cut line — a black vector curve (0.1 mm outline) or several curves combined into one group, over the image
  • Image bleed beyond the cut line — 1 mm
  • Maximum print size — 282×433 mm
PDF PSD CDR AI
Elements marked with the “Clear” spot color (C-0 M-100 Y-0 K-0) will be varnished.

CMYK + spot varnish with lamination

  • Elements under varnish — at least 3 mm thick
  • Allowed misregistration — up to 1.5 mm
  • We recommend using digital varnish over lamination independently, without tying it to the printed objects

CMYK + spot varnish without lamination

  • Text — at least 9 pt Bold
  • Elements — at least 1.06 mm (3 pt); anything thinner and the varnish effect is visually absent
  • Allowed misregistration — 1.5 mm
  • Varnish objects are created 0.3 mm larger on each side than the CMYK objects under the spot varnish
  • Minimum line thickness for spot varnish without CMYK printing — at least 0.5 mm
Adobe Illustrator, Corel
  • Elements for varnish coating — on a separate layer over the image, with a 100% fill (varnish does not reproduce halftones)
  • Create a spot color C-0 M-100 Y-0 K-0 named “Clear” with the mandatory OVERPRINT attribute (fill overprint)
Adobe Photoshop
  • Select the required object
  • In the “Channels” window, add a new spot channel named “Clear” (spot color C-0 M-100 Y-0 K-0)
  • Finished product size — larger than 306×436 mm
  • Background bleed — 4 mm on all sides
  • Margin from the edge to important elements — at least 7 mm on each side
  • Allowed misregistration of front and back — up to 4 mm
  • Allowed skew — 4 mm over a length of 700 mm
The maximum print area for sheet-fed printing — 680×314 mm (submitted at the print area size).
The maximum allowed size for multipage products — 660×306 mm (when unfolded).
